Depression is Painful

Depression is not only painful, but also frustrating, not just for the person who has it but heart breaking for the entire family. It affects everyone around the person who has it. When they cry for help - what do you do. Without the proper diagnosis and education, you don't know what to do.
So what do you do ???
Do you cry with them or do you call someone ??? I did both.
I have an immediate family member with Bi-Polar Depression Disorder. I have known for years that something was wrong.
I had no education with the problem as I didn't grow up with
this problem,no one in my immediate family had this disorder. When I had a family, I found out later it ran in the family bloodline. Now what? For the rest of our lives we will battle with the painful infliction upon us for there is no cure, just treatment.
When my family member was diagnosed, I cried for days, not because I gave them this problem on purpose but because I cannot make it go away. I LOVE them so much and it hurts to see them struggle just to get out of bed and sometimes they can't. You have to physically pull them up, get them dressed, and take them to the hospital or counselor.
There is the problem of finding the proper mixture of therapy, medication, and education to help everyone with this disorder, and it takes years. The solution is not perfect, but it helps. You have to get counseling yourself to help give everyone the TOOLS to cope with this situation. Now, we have some hope. THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL - just keep your head up and be strong, you all need each other to get through it and communication with others is the key. Right now I feel strength from all who read this and know what we are going through. You are aware of someone who battles this too, we are not alone.
